over mijn werk
Ik ben altijd geïnteresseerd geweest in de psyche van de mens en het SoulStory project is het eerste fotoproject waarin ik mensen ook echt, naast het maken van hun portret, vroeg naar hun dromen en verlangens. De verhalen die men met mij deelde raakten steevast aan een diepere laag waarnaar ik al die tijd op zoek was.
De verhalen en gesprekken bleken mensen te inspireren en iets bij hen in beweging te zetten en dat was precies wat me die extra voldoening bracht.
Juist die bewustwording van onze dromen, angsten, verlangens en emoties, onze schaduwen met hun gouden cadeau is wat mij enorm boeit. Waarom doen we wat we doen en welke invloed hebben onderdrukte emoties op ons leven en ons gevoel van vrijheid. Ik heb het met diepgaande interesse onderzocht en doorleefd en wil mijn jarenlange ervaringen en steeds een beetje meer opgedane wijsheid graag met jullie delen in mijn blog en empowerment projecten.
Daarnaast zoek ik in mijn eigen werk opnieuw naar rauwe emoties, pure kracht en kwetsbaarheid. Ik ben niet bang om diep naar binnen te kijken en mijn eigen schaduwen aan het licht te brengen om zo mijn werk meer diepgang en kracht te geven. Ik probeer te ontdekken wie ik zelf echt ben en hoop zo door middel van mijn kunst jullie mee te nemen in een zelfde proces van bewustwording en daarmee leiderschap over je leven en gezondheid.

Feeling numb in deep hidden emotion. Not being able to say a thing, being devastated and wounded, forbidden to open one’s mouth.
Stigmatised like voodoo, branded disgraceful with the nr 666 that can be found in the Bible as the number of the beast. But divided in three times 6 it gives hope for the future; it is the figure of love and it protects the ‘weak’. The last portrait shows that the feeling of dying inside will eventually lead to a new resurrection and transformation towards life in it’s most wonderful way.
As there is much more meaning to the portraits, I leave it to the viewers interpretation to give it their own voice.
There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.CG Jung

ICH BIN KOLN! Nightmares caught between the webs on new years eve
Hundreds of women got sexually molested by groups of men on new years eve in Cologne. The police could only watch the game. They were told by the government to shut their mouths about what happened because it was not convenient in their policy of welcoming refugees. Everybody is talking about the predators, but what about the women?… are we forgetting the women?…. And where are the men, standing up together, joining in from all religions to comfort women and make sure they will do everything possible for this not to happen again?..
